The 1983Foundation 2026 Scholarship Application

Greetings Applicant and welcome to the Scholarship Application for the 1983 Foundation. Our organization will identify and award recipients with a scholarship to support their pursuit of higher education. Each scholarship awarded will be distributed to recipients by the FALL of 2026. Please complete the application and All the BEST!

 

The deadline to apply is 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026

Requirements
  1. Applicants must be a high school senior of color currently enrolled in a high school in Southern California.   

  2. Applicants must have a  minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better.

Application Materials
  1. Most recent high school transcript.

  2. Copy of Letter of Acceptance to an accredited college or university beginning in the summer or fall of 2026.

  3. Type-written essay about the importance of a College Education to African Americans and People of Color Past, Present and Future. The essay should highlight the applicant’s career goals, outstanding academic work, community service activities, and extracurricular activities. *A related “College Essay” may be substituted and/or modified*

  4. Write a paragraph about a member of a Black Greek Letter Organization such as Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated (living or deceased) that is inspirational to you in your life and future goals.

  5. Submit a resume of employment, accomplishments and community service.

  6. A clear headshot photograph of the applicant. 

  7. Complete Photo & Video Release Form which can be downloaded here

The application will be rated on professional appearance, clarity of thought, academic achievement, community involvement, and strength of the essay. Please print or type all application information. Application materials must be submitted using the form below.
